The twelfth annual Los Angeles Regional Sacred Harp Singing met on Saturday before the third Sunday in May at Angel’s Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, California. Chairman Beth Webb called the class to order at 10:00 a.m., welcomed everyone and led 49t. Chaplin Steve Lazicki offered the opening prayer. Vice Chair Laura Boyd Russell led 52t; Treasurer Duncan MacLeod led 77t.

A business meeting was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chair—Beth Webb; Vice Chair—Pat Keating; Treasurer—Duncan MacLeod; Secretary—Juanita Heyerman; Arranging Committee—Rick Russell; Resolutions Committee—Jeff Gauthier; Memorial Committee—Jon Rand.

Beth Webb called the class back to order leading 46. Jon Rand conducted the memorial lesson and led 285 (t? b?) in memory of the deceased: Joy Wheeler—Pennsylvania; Edward Ford—California; and Leonie Boyd Erickson.

The sick and shut-ins were remembered and 398 sung in their honor: Kay Milling—New York; Karen Huss, Fumie Murata, and Pam Tricket and family—California. The memorial was closed.

Beth Webb led 107 to call the class to prayer and lunch.

LUNCH

Betty Herman brought the afternoon session to order leading 28t. A business meeting was held for the purpose of hearing reports from various committees.

The Treasurer reported that expenses had been met and thanked all for achieving this goal.

The Secretary reported that 64 songs were sung throughout the day.

The Resolutions Committee thanked everyone who assisted in making this singing possible. Laura Boyd Russell particularly wished to thank Esther Stevens of Angel’s Gate who made sure the missing windows were replaced right before the singing.

Announcements were made. Beth Webb led 276 as the closing song as those who wished took the parting hand. Steve Lazicki offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
