The nineteenth annual singing at Mt. Zion Methodist Church was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by James Thobaben joyfully welcoming the attendees back to his church after two years’ absence. Kathleen Halpin offered the opening prayer; Ron Pen led the class in singing the scale and 73b. Song selections were from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition and The Southern Harmony.

Jonathan Powers said a closing prayer and Ron Pen led 267 while the class took the parting hand. There had been fifteen leaders among a class of forty-nine singers from Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Massachusetts. The class dismissed to a soup supper prepared by the church members.
