Singing on the Occasion of Hooey Pen’s Funeral

Following the service for Helen “Hooey” Pen’s funeral, singing was called to order on the green outside the church by Rafi Finkel leading 73b. All selections were from a list of Hooey’s favorite songs in The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition, communicated to the singers by Mary Brinkman. Leaders: Rafi Finkel 178; Ron Pen 455; Zachary Davis 159; Charles Coulston 312b; Erin Fulton 118; James Thobaben 128; Rob Coulston 133; Timothy Morton 448b. Ron Pen closed the singing by leading 267, the first line of which is engraved on his and Hooey’s tombstone. The singers dismissed to continue telling stories about Hooey and making music in her honor.
