Rogers Memorial Singing

The officers of the Rogers Memorial Singing cancelled the event for 2021 due to the pandemic, but a short memorial lesson was held to call to mind those persons who are sick and those that we lost within the past year. Karen Rollins conducted the lesson and led 339. The following sick and shut-ins were remembered: Tommy Vance, Barry Rollins, Opal Rogers Cannon, and Emmett Harrod. All are from Georgia.
Those on the deceased list were the following: Coy Middlebrooks (grandson of Lee McGraw), Janett Turner (daughter of Rosa Hughes), Margaret Spurlock, Bill Windom, Velton Chafin, Jewel Wootten, Ken Sundberg, and Mary Ruth Stiefel—Alabama; Harry Eskew, Richard DeLong, Bentley McGuire, and Steve Hester—Georgia; Luther Rogers—Florida; Wendell Rogers—Virginia; Myrl Smith Jones and Curtis Owen—Texas; Peter Golden—Maine; Bill Beverly—Michigan. The following local friends were also remembered: Wendell Langley, Janelle Shadinger, Adam Caldwell, Kim Yarbrough, Randy Yarbrough, Lura Jo Landers, Lydia Rogers, Belva Stanaway, and Linda Parrish.
