The 21st annual session of the Rotunda Singing was held in the foyer of the Department of Archives and History, Montgomery, Alabama. Four songbooks were used: The Colored Sacred Harp; The B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Edition; The Christian Harmony; and The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition.

The class sang 87. Bill Hogan welcomed the class and visitors. He introduced Joey Brackner, of the Alabama State Arts Council, and Scott Kirkland, who offered words of welcome and encouraged the singers to enjoy the exhibit of photographs by Johnathon Kelso. Bill Hogan led 36b. Arlon Gardner offered the opening prayer.

The first session of singing was from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition. Leaders: Ann Riley 142; Robert Chambless 77b; David Ivey 460; Chris Parris 532; Ann Jett 269; Judy Caudle 134; Arlon Gardner 285t; Bridgett Hill Kennedy 30b; Gary Padgett 189; Jack Nelson 461.

RECESS

The third session of singing was from the B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Edition. The class was called to order by Bill Hogan leading 497 (CB). The class sang 369 (CB). Chris Parris offered the blessing before the noon meal.

LUNCH

The class was called back together by Johnathon Kelso and David Ivey leading 56b. The first afternoon session included selections from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition. The second session of the afternoon included selections from The Christian Harmony. Following announcements, Katlin Bailey, Judy Chambless, and Bill Hogan led 29t (CB) as the closing song. Bill Hogan offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
