The 23rd annual session of the Joe Beasley Memorial Singing was called to order by Richard Schmeidler leading 66. Marlin Beasley offered the opening prayer.

In a business meeting, the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—John Beasley; Vice Chairman—Richard Schmeidler; Secretary—Becky Briggs; Arranging—Margaret Keeton.

RECESS

The memorial lesson was conducted by Lisa Geist and Amber Davis. Amber spoke for the sick and shut-ins, and read the following list of names: Sarah Beasley, Ozella Blackmon, Eugene Forbes, Anne Mauldin Chalker, Velton Chafin, Bea Aaron, Chug Beasley, Ruth Nix, Willodean Barton, and Clark Beasley. She led 129 in their honor.

Lisa Geist spoke in memory of the deceased, referring to Psalm 96:1 and Psalm 108:1. She read the following list of names of the deceased: Johnnie Chafin, Gravis Ballinger, Kirby Sweatt, Sr., Daphene Causey, Hugh McGraw, Caleb Allred, Kenneth Fannin, Toney Smith, Lavoy Smith, and Libby Hankins. She led 549 in their memory. Drew McGuire closed the memorial lesson with prayer. Marlin Beasley made remarks about the people who have passed away in the last year. Henry McGuire offered prayer before the midday meal.
