Minutes of Sacred Harp Singings

The 25th session of the Elder Homer Benefield, Katherine Benefield, and Mildred Johnson Memorial singing was held on Friday night before the second Sunday in April at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church, just south of Tallapoosa on Shiloh Church Road. Cecil Roberts called the class to order by leading 97. Johnny Wright offered the opening prayer.

Leaders: Cecil Roberts 101t; Johnny Wright 59, 58; Donna Bell 34b, 33b; Jason Stanford 500, 75; Kathy Manning 74b, 73b; Virginia Dyer 163b, 40.

A business session was held and the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Vice Chairman—Johnny Wright; Secretary—Donna Bell; Arranging Officer—Virginia Dyer.

RECESS

The class was brought back to order by Cecil Roberts leading 37b. Leaders: Sherrell Clieno 452 (in memory of B.J. Harris), 335; Richard DeLong 482, 403; Diane Clayton 143. Samuel Williams asked a blessing before the evening meal.

SUPPER

The class reconvened with Johnny Wright leading 145t. Announcements were made. Cecil Roberts, Johnny Wright, and Donna Bell led 46 as the closing song.

Jason Stanford offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
