The fall session of the Southwest Texas Sacred Harp Singing Convention met at the Waldorf School near Austin, Texas. The session was called to order by Sonny Huckaby leading 293b. Prayer was offered by Bruce Coates.

Tom Owen then spoke in memory of those that have passed away in the past year, noting that “Sacred Harp Singers will sing for each other” after we have left this hollow square. The list included Dutch Owen, Adele Reed, Ophelia Matthews, Dick Steil, Monnie Ross Jr.—Texas; Lee Rogers and Jimmie Denney—Georgia; John Etheridge—Florida; Elder Gerald Hand—New Mexico. Tom led 344 in their memory. Elder Sonny Huckaby closed the lesson with prayer.
