The 10th session of the Rotunda Singing was held on Saturday before the first Sunday in February at the Alabama State Capitol. Four books were used: The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition; Christian Harmony; Colored Sacred Harp; and the B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Edition.

The class was called to order by Jim Carnes, who welcomed everyone and recognized Joey Brackner and Steve Grauberger, members of the Alabama State Council on the Arts. The morning prayer was offered by Bill Hogan.

The following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Jim Carnes; Vice Chairman—Joey Brackner; Secretary—Judy Caudle.

The first session of singing was from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition, and Elene Stovall served as arranging committee. RECESS

The class was called together by Jim Carnes. The third session of singing was from the Colored Sacred Harp, and Bernice Harvey served as arranging committee. Leaders: Janice Johnson 3; Steve Grauberger 95; Bernice Harvey 65b; Jonathan Blakeley 87; Bill Hogan 59; John Etheridge 25; Janice Johnson 24; Tommy Spurlock 4; Jim Carnes 31; Bernice Harvey “Lord, Give Me Just A Little More Time”.

The fourth session of singing was from the B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Edition, and Tommy Spurlock called the leaders. Leaders: Tommy Spurlock 98; John Etheridge 464; Bill Aplin 277; Erin Mills 393t; Voncil Graves 335; Wayne Morgan 47t; Frank Hataway 32t; Marion Patrick 358; Jonathan Blakeley and Audrie Blakeley 60; Jim Pfau 478. Bill Aplin offered the prayer before the noon meal.

LUNCH

The first afternoon session began with songs led from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition. The third afternoon session was held from the Colored Sacred Harp. Leaders: Bernice Harvey 65t; Steve Grauberger 19; Bill Hogan 6; Kenneth Sundberg 27; Tim Cook 12; Bernice Harvey 9, “Lord, Give Me Just A Little More Time”.

The fourth afternoon session of singing was from the Cooper Edition. Leaders: Don Clark 422t; Karen Clark 95b; Nancy Hogan 49t; Bill Hogan 155; Regina Grayson 86; Rochell Wright 174; Denise Kania 140; Kenneth Sundberg 501.

Following announcements, the officers and arranging committee led 87 (CB) as the closing song. Elder Bufrey Dean offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
