The second annual Union University Singing was held on Saturday before the second Sunday in February in the Band Room of the Union University, Jackson, Tennessee.
Dr. Michael Penny called the class to order with a brief history of shape note singing. Claire Outten led songs on pages 63, 49t, and 32t. Dr. Andy Roby, Union’s Music Department Chair, offered the opening prayer.
Members of the Harpeth Valley Sacred Harp Singers of Nashville, Tennessee were guests.

Michael Penny brought the afternoon session to order with a memorial lesson. Those remembered were: Dr. Ken Harley, retired Union University music professor; Paul Larsen, teenage son of a Union University professor; and Azile Penny, mother of Dr. Michael Penny who lived in Louisiana. Kelly Sorrell closed the memorial with prayer.
