367 Consolation

Words: Annie Denson Aaron, 1935

Music: Annie Denson Aaron, 1935

Meter: Common Meter Double (8,6,8,6,8,6,8,6)

Awake, dear brother, sister, friend,
Get ready for the call
That soon or late is sure to come,
Alike to one and all.
Our Shepherd will supply our needs,
If we on Him rely;
And on to victory He leads,
When we the arms supply.

’Mid storms of doubt, in grief or woe,
While Satan’s hosts surround,
Renew your zeal and onward go
To Him where joy is found.
Our Shepherd hears each humble plea,
He heeds each earnest call;
And grants salvation full and free,
For He is Lord of all.
