The annual Sacred Harp singing at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church was held on the first Sunday in September. The class was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Cecil Roberts leading 28b and 33b. The opening prayer was offered by Samuel Williams. Nathan Rees led 52b and 40.

Since the Secretary was absent, Karen Rollins was asked to serve as Secretary. The following officers were retained: Chairman—Cecil Roberts; Vice Chairman—Nathan Rees; Arranging Officer—Judy Chambless.

At this time, Karen Rollins led the memorial lesson. She talked about the different ways that singers lead their lessons, and the way that lessons have changed throughout Sacred Harp history. She said that the memorial lesson is a quieter, special lesson that has different meanings for different singers. It means more as one sings for a longer period of time. She read the list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Tommie Spurlock, Chris Holley, Donna Bell, Brenda Johnson, Sandra Johnson, Sherry Pope, and Concetta Branson. She then read the following list of names of the deceased: Hugh McGraw, Eloise Wootten, Gravis Ballinger, Harold DeLong, Lynn Swafford Key, Johnny Lee, Delorese Lee, Johnnie Chafin, Dan Summerlin, Bobby Bonds, Laverne Shealy, Marshall Patterson, and Gail Jackson. Karen led 45t. Cecil Roberts closed the memorial service with prayer. Judy Chambless led 348t, and Fallon Cook led 358.

Cecil Roberts welcomed the class after lunch by leading 163b.
