The 103rd session of the Walker County Sacred Harp Singing Convention was called to order by Glenn Keeton leading 31b. Jim Aaron offered the morning prayer. The class organized by electing or appointing the following officers: Chairman—Glenn Keeton; Honorary Vice Chairman—Velton Chafin; Vice Chairman—Brenda Chafin; Secretary—Lisa Geist; Arranging Officer—Amber Davis; Chaplain—Jim Aaron; Memorial Lesson—Nicholas Thompson.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Nicholas Thompson leading 404 for those the following sick and shut-ins: Lena Keeton, Ottis Sides, Velton Chafin, Johnnie Chafin, Henry Guthery, Hubert Nall, Lorene Gray, Emily Jones, Anne Chalker, Eloise Wootten, Verlon Stiefel, Betty Shepherd, Karen Rollins, Charlene Wallace, and Chris Holley.

Nicholas Thompson then led 30b in memory of the following deceased: Caleb Allred, Gravis Ballinger, Toney Smith, Lavoy Smith, Kenneth Fannin, Levon Wootten—Alabama; B.M. Smith and Hugh McGraw—Georgia. The memorial lesson was closed with prayer.
