The 96th session of the annual Labor Day Sacred Harp Singing was held at Shoal Creek Church, located in Talladega National Forest, Cleburne County, Alabama. The class was called to order by Cecil Roberts leading 49t. Cecil offered the opening prayer.

Joe Jones, of the Shoal Creek Church Preservation Society, spoke to the class. He told of some planned improvements to be made, in particular, the replacement of the foundation and restoration of the floor. He thanked the Sacred Harp singers for their donations to the Society.
