The 7th annual Augusta Sacred Harp Singing was held at Augusta Old Line Primitive Baptist Church, Martinez, Georgia, on Saturday before the first Sunday in May. Gene Pinion began the meeting with a singing school, and led 49t and 569t. After the presentation, Joyce Heath welcomed everyone and the class sang 31t. John Gentry offered the opening prayer.

The class was called to order by Joyce Heath at 10:00 a.m. leading 212. Leaders: Richard Noegel 84, 78; Dawn Stanford 457, 159; Agnes Roberts 358, 143; Gene Pinion 100, 186; John Gentry 290, 29b; Chandler Thigpen 59, 154.

RECESS

Joyce Heath brought the class back to order by leading 217 and 215. Leaders: Thomas Smith 490, 72b; Sharon Strong 299, 218; Rob Dylan 38b, 89; Liz Blount 338; Tom Ivey 504, 505; Richard Noegel 268; Joyce Heath 340, 339. John Gentry asked a blessing before the noon meal.

LUNCH

Joyce Heath called the class back to order at 1:00 p.m. The class entered into a business session with the following officers elected to serve: Chairman—Richard Noegel; Co-Chairman—Joyce Heath; Secretary—Diane Goldman.
