The 16th annual session of the Rotunda Singing was held on Saturday before the first Sunday in February. Four song books were used: The B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Edition; The Christian Harmony; The Sacred Harp, 1991 Revision, and The Colored Sacred Harp.

The following officers were previously elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Bill Hogan; Vice Chairmen—Jim Carnes and Joey Brackner; Secretary—Nancy Hogan.

The first session of singing was from The Sacred Harp. The class came to order singing 121. Bill Hogan and Joey Brackner welcomed the class. Debbie Pendleton, representing the Department of Archives and History, spoke words of encouragement and support for the singing. Jim Carnes led 207. Richard Mauldin offered the opening prayer.

RECESS

The third session of singing was from the Colored Sacred Harp. Leaders: Bill Hogan 59; Judy Chambless 74b; Stanley Smith 4; Karen Clark 12; Ken Sundberg 24; Stanley Smith and Bill Hogan “Give Me Just a Little More Time” (for Mrs. Bernice Harvey and the Wiregrass Singers).

The fourth session of singing was from the B.F. White Sacred Harp, Cooper Revision. Leaders: Bill Hogan 555; Darlu Nall 277; Tim Taylor 546; Jim McIntyre 463; Victoria Aplin 76b; Ann Webb 142; Paul Wyatt 269; Jerri McIntyre 571; Sara Beasley 393; Nikos Pappas 78; Mike Rogers 30b; Bill Aplin 567; Robert Dupree 40; Hubert Nall 264b; Audrey Blakeley 505; Stephen Smith 274t. The class sang 369, and Elder J.D. Morris offered the blessing before the noon meal.

The eighth session of singing was from the Cooper Book. Leaders: Bill Hogan 520; Nancy Hogan 464; Linda Thomas 54t (in memory of Flarce Creel); Steve Grauberger 336b; Nikos Pappas 250; Paul Wyatt 229.

Announcements were made. Bill Hogan and Joey Brackner led 486 as the closing song. The closing prayer was offered by Jim Carnes.
