The annual Sacred Harp singing held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in June at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Double Springs, Alabama, was called to order by Don Keeton leading 108t and 108b. The morning prayer was offered by Don Keeton.

The class was organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Don Keeton; Vice Chairman—Kermit Adams; Secretary—Roma Rice; Arranging Officer—Margaret Keeton.

Leaders: Don Keeton 163b; Wayne Horton 317 (in memory of Leona Horton), 388; Faye Donaldson 144, 124; Stephen Conte 410t, 82t, 76b; Betty Claborn 59, 358; Emily Jones 147t, 65; Emily Holcombe and Steve Adams 47t, 47b.

RECESS

Don Keeton led 454 to bring the class back to order. Leaders: Velton Chafin 177; Butch White 448t, 503; Warren Steel 39t; Brenda Chafin 270, 282; Betty Baccus 373 (in memory of Roxie Keeton), 224, 159; Kenneth Fannin, Carol Fannin, Mary Holcombe, Emily Holcombe, Christy Holcombe, Susan Allred, Laura Hale, Ryan Hale, and Adam Hale 390, 192.

The memorial lesson was conducted by Roma Rice and Ken Tate. Roma read the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Dawson and Edith Adams, Pernie Pelfrey, and Johnnie Chafin.

She then read the following list of names of the deceased: Rhoda Norris, Ruby Godsey, Mary Godsey, Albert White, Bill Cleghorn, Julietta Haynes, John Merritt, Clarence McCool, Harrison Creel, Travis Keeton, and Cecil Sanders. Ken Tate led 225t in honor of the sick and shut-ins, and then led 347 in memory of the deceased. Butch White offered prayer to close the memorial lesson.

The afternoon session began with Don Keeton leading 35.
