The one hundred-first session of the Bear Creek Sacred Harp Singing Convention met at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Winston County, Alabama on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in August. The class was called to order by Gene Wakefield leading song on page 59. Gladys Bonds offered the morning prayer.

The class organized for the day with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Gene Wakefield; Vice Chairman—John Hyde; Secretary—Pernie Pelfrey; Arranging Committee—Roma Rice.
