The annual Providence Sacred Harp Singing was held at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday before the third Sunday in May. The class was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Kenneth Fannin and Christopher Mann leading 31t. The morning prayer was offered by Butch White.

In a business session, the following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Kenneth Fannin; Vice Chairman—Delone Cobbs; Secretary and Arranging Officer—Judy Caudle.

RECESS

Butch White led 225t to bring the class back to order. He conducted the memorial lesson and read the following list of names of the deceased: Bud Oliver, Clayton Ezell, Willard Wright, Eva Padgett, Steve Cobbs, Pernie Pelfrey, Gertrude Shaddix, and Reecie Harbison. Mary Holcombe and Susan Allred led 30b.

Butch White read the following list of names of the sick and shut-ins: Betty Wright, Sammie Oliver, Othie Thornton, Verlon Moody, Josie Hyde, Norman Crider, and Odie Horton. Mary Holcombe and Susan Allred led 31b. Butch White closed the memorial service with prayer.
