The annual Decoration Day Sacred Harp singing was held at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church on the fourth Sunday in May. The class was called to order by J. L. Hopper leading 145t and 205. The morning prayer was offered by Henry Guthery.

The following officers were elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Jonathon Thompson; Vice Chairman—Brandon Thompson; Secretary—Judy Caudle.

The afternoon session began with Jonathon Thompson leading 84. The memorial lesson was conducted by Judy Caudle. She read a list of names of the following sick and shut-ins: John Plunkett, Freddie Briggs, Myrtle Wootten, Jennifer Allred Lee, and Jeff Johnson, and led 134.

The following list of names of deceased was read by Judy Caudle: Elder Guy Hunt, Omerlean Hopper, Frank Hataway, L.H. Gilmore, Milton Oliver, Nora Higginbotham, Johnathon Cobbs, Dexter Cobbs, Bera Bradford, and Mattie Townsel-Alabama; John Etheridge-Florida. She led 459 in their memory. Elder Daniel Hopper closed the memorial service with prayer.
