The 140th session of the Union Musical Sacred Harp Singing Convention was called to order by Richard DeLong leading 60. Tony Hammock offered the morning prayer. Richard DeLong led 57. Matt Hinton led 32t and 37b.

Dr. Steve Kick conducted the introductory lesson leading songs on pages 49b, 88t, 112, 542, 294, 475, and 217.

Jeannette DePoy spoke on behalf of the sick and shut-ins. Mike Thompson led 176b in honor of the following: Frank Block, James Tolbert, Lonnie Rogers, Raymond Hamrick, John Hollingsworth, Judge Donald Ross, Jenna Strizak, Violet Thomason, Reuben Ball, Mary Florence Lambert Smith, Joan Aldridge, and Corene White. Scott DePoy closed the memorial lesson with prayer.

A business session for the purpose of giving reports was held. Finance Committee reported collections and expenses for the two days. The Resolutions report was presented by Robert Kelly and Steven Kick, thanking everyone who helped make the convention a success and resolving to meet next year at the 141st Union Convention on the fifth Sunday and Saturday before in November (location to be determined).

Following announcements, Matt Hinton led 62 as the closing song. The closing prayer was offered by Mike Spencer, and the class was dismissed.
