Gilliland and Brothers Memorial Singing

Old Clear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Boaz, Alabama

The Gilliland Memorial Singing was held at Old Clear Creek Primitive Baptist Church on the second Sunday in March. Cecil Gilliland opened this year’s singing leading songs on pages 36b and 104. The morning prayer was led by Lamar Smith. Cecil Gilliland led song on page 155. The class was organized by electing the following officers: Chairman—Cecil Gilliland; Vice Chairman—Lawrence Underwood; Secretary—Helen Lambert; Arranging Committee—Pauline Oliver. It was announced that this singing would hereafter be known as the Gilliland and Brothers Memorial Singing, and that this session was dedicated to Mr. Luther Miller who had just recently passed away. It was also announced that this singing would be held on Saturday before the second Sunday in March in 1997, which will be March 8.
