The Denney Memorial singing was held at Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church, south of Carrollton, Georgia on Saturday before the first Sunday in November. The class was called to order with prayer led by Felton Denney.

The class was organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Philip Denney; Vice Chairman—Bernard Denney; Secretary—Mary L. Smith; Arranging Committee—Charlene Wallace.

RECESS

The class resumed singing with Bernard Denney leading 164 for Nick Griffith, and 405 in memory of Everette Denney. LUNCH

The afternoon session was brought to order by Philip Denney leading 120. Leaders: Philip Denney and his grandchildren 358; Bobby Jackson 47b, 480; John Wall 38b, 268; Lou Cotney 300, 384; Joe Douglas 503, 159; John Plunkett 158, 207; Laura Frey 155, 178; Jarred Ball 45t (in memory of Everette Denney).

Moena Denney, wife of Everette Denney, conducted a memorial lesson. She spoke of what this singing, which was formerly held at Bethel in Heard County, had meant to Everette and her, and how pleased she was that the singing had been named in his memory. She stated that Everette would be so pleased that their grandson had led a lesson today.

Philip Denney spoke about the condition of Emmaus Church regarding the finances, up-keep of the church, and the cemetery. He urged all relatives to tell others about things that needed to be taken care of here at the church in the near future.

Felton Denney and Josephine Denney led 489 in memory of Howard Reed.

Announcements were made. Lonnie Rogers, Felton Denney, Josephine Denney, and Bernard Denney led 100 as the closing song. Cecil Roberts offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
