The twenty-first session of the annual all day Sacred Harp singing at the State University of West Georgia was held in the Food Services Building on the first Sunday in January. The class was called to order by Myron House leading 60. Lonnie Rogers offered the morning prayer. Myron House led 61; Felton Denney 49b; Charlene Wallace 85, 135 (for Don Bowen and Bobby Jackson); Mary L. Smith 134, 75.

A business session was held with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—Myron House; Vice Chairman—Philip Denney; Secretary—Charlene Wallace; Arranging Committee—Mary L. Smith; Memorial Committee—Jan House and Josephine Denney.

LUNCH

Myron House called the class together for the afternoon session with 201, and then presented a letter from Dr. Kevin Hibbard which noted both the historical and contemporary merits of Sacred Harp singing.

The memorial lesson was held with Charles Woods leading 108b and 373 in memory of: Gladys Simmons, Everette Denney, Harvey Austin, Rev. Loyd Toney, Ruth Brown, Willie Carolyn Denson, and Beulah Reese.

Henry Johnson led 68b for the following sick and shut-ins: Mozelle Sheppard, I.V. McWhorter, Nancy Allen, Reby Stanford, Lebron Hinton, Jeff Sheppard, and Shelbie Sheppard. Lonnie Rogers closed the memorial with prayer.
