The fifth Annual Oxford Sacred Harp Singing Day was held on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in June. Chairman Edwin Macadam called the class to order at 10:00 a.m. leading 84. Adrian Bolge offered the opening prayer.

Bernard Collard conducted the memorial lesson, reading the names of the deceased and then leading 285t. Those remembered: Jim Bundell, Chris White, Ruth Brown (Alabama, USA), Stan Stokes, Rosie Whiffen, Colin Gunton, Roger Lewis, Will Thomas, Roger March, Sarah Day, Tom Mattock, Mary Dalton, Barbara Lockley, Gordon Sibthorpe, Roy Bryan, and Bob Merrett.

The sick and housebound were recalled by Bernard Collard. Those remembered: Gordon Ashman, Hazel Walker, John McDougall, Chris Gardner, Mary Castell, Marian White, Arwen Lockley, Win Tyler, Ken Baddley, Rosalind Oldham, Barbara Foster, Sue Gould, Joan Stocks, Len Roles, Karen Crook, Mike Walcot, Gwen and Julie. Sheila Girling Macadam led 474 to honor those who were remembered. The memorial was closed.

Sheila Girling Macadam and Edwin Macadam thanked all those who had helped during the day, especially Rachel Jordan, Helen Brown, and Mick Verrier for pitching; Bernard Collard who served as Chaplain; and Judy Whiting for serving as the Arranging Committee. Edwin Macadam and Sheila Girling Macadam led 347 as the closing song. Alan Weeks offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
