The annual Sacred Harp singing at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church was held on the third Sunday in May. Chairman B.M. Smith called the class to order leading 59. Harvey Austin offered the morning prayer. B.M. Smith led 101t; Jeff Sheppard 89, 123t.

The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—B.M. Smith; Vice Chairman—Jeff Sheppard; Secretary/Arranging Committee—Hester Edwards; Memorial Committee—Pearl Guier.

Jeff Sheppard brought the class to order leading 129. Charles Norton gave a report on the cemetery.

Pearl Guier thanked Sylvia Norton and her brother for the beautiful flowers in the church, and then conducted the memorial lesson. Eunice Webb led 45t in memory of: E.M. Watson, Irene Watson, Grace Tolleson, Virginia Jones Glasgow, Ollie Walker, Wayne Smith, Jess Butler, Bessie Butler, Eric Reaves, Revy Williamson, Carrie Garner, Vivian Rogers, and Everette Denney.

Jeff Sheppard led 68b for Della Edwards and other sick and shut-ins which included Ruth Brown, Evelyn Harris, Buelah Reese, Kathleen Butler Powers, Alice Edwards, and all the service men and women overseas.

Jeff Sheppard led 155 and 122, which was especially requested by Ruth Brown, who was seriously ill at this time. Elder Lewis Norton closed the memorial lesson with prayer.

LUNCH

Lewis Norton brought the afternoon session to order and led 76b and 490. Announcements were made. B.M. Smith led 46 as the closing song. Rev. Les Jones offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
