The annual Sacred Harp singing at Cane Creek Primitive Baptist Church was held on the third Sunday in May. Chairman B.M. Smith called the class to order leading song on page 82t. Felton Denney offered the morning prayer. B.M. Smith led song on page 72b; followed by Jeff Sheppard 124 (in memory of J.T. Pruitt), 112; and Mary Florence Smith 59, 89.

The class organized with the following officers elected or appointed to serve: Chairman—B.M. Smith; Vice Chairman—Jeff Sheppard; Arranging Committee—Mary Florence Smith; Secretary—Hester Edwards; Memorial Committee—Ruth Brown.

Ruth Brown presented the memorial lesson. The names of the deceased remembered were: Wilford Denney, Oakie Austin, Polly Moore, William Brown, Eula Johnson, Reba Edwards, Ray Edward Green, Edward Joe Norton, Lucille Garner, Mary Barber, Lorene Clay, Eddie Lee Lumpkin, Nell Arnett Temple, Daisy Roberts, and infants William Bailey Payton and Michael Owen Payton. Howard McGuire led song on page 235 for William Brown; Michael Turner led song on page 294 for Reba Edwards; and Felton Denney led song on page 285t for all the other deceased.

Evelyn Harris led song on page 340 for the sick and shut-ins which included: Vivian Rogers, Mozelle Sheppard, I.V. McWhorter, Ike Stanford, Gertrude Norton, and many others. The memorial was closed with prayer.

Charles Norton gave the report on the cemetery, and the class was dismissed for lunch.
