The May Decoration Day Sacred Harp Singing held at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church was called to order by Chairman Milford Cobbs leading songs on pages 75 and 46. The morning prayer was offered by Henry Guthery.

Leaders and selections were as follows: Arvid Holmes 460; Judy Caudle 33b, 28b (by request); Jonathon Thompson 39b, 68b; Eddis Guthrie 36b, 34b; Henry Guthery 225t, 101t, 30t; Eldagene Roberson 89, 81t; Brandon Thompson 274t, 335; Wilda Holmes 501 (CB), 295; Judy Caudle 108b (for Mrs. Lessie Grant).

RECESS

Singing resumed with Milford Cobbs leading song on page 127. Hershell King offered prayer and the blessing for lunch.

LUNCH

After enjoying lunch and fellowship, the class was called to order by Milford Cobbs leading song on page 323 (t? b?).

A memorial session was held at this time. Milford Cobbs made remarks of remembrance of those who have passed from this life and admonished all to remember the veterans of the wars of our country, both those who gave their lives and those who returned, for they, too, gave of themselves for our freedoms.

Judy Caudle led song on page 141 in memory of Aubrey Holmes and song on page 459 in memory of Bera Bradford, Mamie Buckelew, and Leon Holmes. Jonathon Thompson and Brandon Thompson led song on page 448t in memory of Willard Hopper, L.E. Hopper, and the others of the Hopper family who have passed away. The memorial session was closed with prayer offered by Elder J.L. Hopper.

Elder Daniel Hopper offered the closing prayer, and the class was dismissed.
