The fall meeting of the Southwest Texas Sacred Harp Singing Convention met on the fifth weekend of October at Littlevine Primitive Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Chairman Leon Ballinger called the class to order at 9:30 a.m. by leading song on page 32t. Rev. Verlon Stiefel of Fyffe, Alabama offered the morning prayer.

Those remembered were: Judy Nieth, Vesta Ellis, Ed Craig, Lacy Leopard Taylor, and Christine Wilson Stolls—Texas; Vedie Edge Touchstone and Jack Smith—Georgia; Eugene Wakefield, Virgil Phillips, Ruby Phillips, and Marie Aldridge—Alabama; Susan Garber—Connecticut; Susan Fitch—Louisiana; Karen House—New York; David Terry Davis—Virginia. Beverly Coates led song on page 285t for the deceased.

B.E. Matthews led song on page 507 for the sick and shut-in singers who were not in attendance: Elder Billy Moseley, Mildred Edmonds, Alcie Craig, Verna Powell, James Day, Lorene Hutcheson, Francis Daniels, Ophelia Matthews, Viola Jones, Lawson Smith, Junior Smith, Marie Smith, and Pat Day—Texas; Jim Ballinger—Alabama; Bill Herthington—Oklahoma. The memorial was closed. Tom Owen offered the prayer for lunch.
